This Hair was GREAT!!! I ordered my hair and received it in 2 days. When I got the hair it arrived in decent packaging. Here is a photo of the hair before I installed and then I have pictures of what it actually looked like in my hair. This hair blended so well with my hair. I have natural curly hair and my natural hair color is a #2. The off black color I purchased blended very well with my hair. I did not have to dye my hair. I ordered a 18, 16, and 14 inch. 

The hair was it's actual length. The hair is very silky and soft. It has a very natural texture to it. The hair holds a curl very well. I put a very loose curl in the hair just to give it some body. So far I have not had much shedding. All HAIR SHEDS at some point, but this hair barely sheds. its just as normal as your natural hair would shed. I plan on keeping this hair in for 3 months. I have washed this hair and it still looks amazing!!! I always sit under the dryer to get my hair dried because its less harsh than a blow dryer. This is a bang for the buck purchase!!! How Many Bundles for a Full Sew in?

Know your weft

A weft is where virgin hair is hand tied or machine tied. With shorter hair, wefts are fuller. With longer hair, they’re lighter. Why? You’re not being cheated, rest assured.
Most times 2 bundles are needed for a complete look, amplifying the sense of volume. The whole idea of getting a weave is to add volume and to match the client’s own hair texture and colour.
14’’ 16’’ 18’’ = 2 x bundles
20’’ 22’’ 24’’ 26’’ = 2 to 3 x bundles

How much hair do you need for a partial weave?
The distance between your tracks plays a vital role in the amount of bundles you will need. Depending on how much you leave out on the top (and around the perimeter) of your head, 2 bundles should be more than enough.
There really is no such thing is enough hair. Here’s a visual references of length sizes.

Hair that is imported is priced according to weight. This is customary when importing and ordering hair because it’s how suppliers abroad make the hair. The specifications (of a single bundle) are always 100 grams, irrespective of length unless a prior agreement is made to customize the weight to other specification. What this means is that it doesn’t matter if you’re buying a 22’’ or 10’’ they weigh the same. But because the 22’’ is longer, there’s a change in the amount of hair on the weft.

So the longer you want your hair, the more bundles you need to buy for a fuller look. Easy peasy.

How many bundles you need for a full install

The general rule of thumb is: the shorter the hair bundle the more volume you get. A 12” will have far more volume than an 18” bundle of human hair.

With 12” and less, 1 bundle can be more than sufficient – because, this length has plenty volume on the weft. Anything from 14”, it is best to apply 2 bundles. Anything from 20” and up, it’s not unusual to apply 3 bundles of human hair.

The Intact Cuticle Hair Bulk

Remy or full Cuticle Hair means that the hair has all cuticles healthy, intact and all cuticles flow in the same direction from the root to the tip. Typically hair is of remy quality when it has been collected directly from a woman’s head and has been cut while held in a ponytail, so none of the hair strands fall to the floor. Because of the careful collection process, only Remy quality hair can guarantee that all cuticles will stay aligned and the hair will be tangle-free hair in its most natural form. True remy hair lasts for a long time, can be reused several times, and can be colored or flat ironed with heat just like one’s own natural hair.

In contrast, non-Remy or other hair types are made from hair collected from the floor of temples, salons and door-to-door brush hair collection. Due to these types of collection methods, cuticle directions are always mixed up, causing inevitable tangling problems. To minimize tangling problems, many vendors treat the hair with special chemicals to strip off the cuticles completely and then apply layers of silicone coating over it to bring back the sheen. Unfortunately, after such treatment the hair initially looks and feels good and it is difficult for consumers to detect if it is non-remy hair just by touching or feeling it.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 100% HUMAN HAIR AND REMY HAIR???

The term “REMY” refers to the characteristics of the hair and the method used to manufacture the hair extensions.

REMY has qualities such as uni-lateral cuticle direction, which basically means the hair follicles all go in one single direction. Remy hair is collected in a method in which all hair strands stay aligned in the natural direction as it grew (i.e. holding the hair in a ponytail and cutting), top at top, and ends at ends, to maintain the natural texture pattern and cuticle direction. This eliminates tangling problems commonly found in non-Remy or low quality hair. Remy hair is only lightly processed. REMY Human Hair extensions should last up to 3 to 6 months with regular maintenance.

Because of the method of collection, this type of hair is in short supply and is therefore quite expensive.

So basically, if “100% Human Hair” is the Benz of the industry, then “Remy Hair” is the Phantom…And “Virgin Indian Remy” is the Bugatti. (look it up)

There are some hair suppliers that claim they sell unprocessed Remy hair. To some extent all hair must be processed to ensure that the cuticle is aligned in the same direction. Some companies claim to sell 100% Remy Hair, but are mixing anywhere between 10-40% Non-Remy hair into their packs. An expert in human hair can tell the difference between Remy and Non-Remy hair by touching it. It is said that Remy hair has a cool and silky feeling when you touch it. Non experts probably will not be able to tell the difference by looking at it. Trust me, after 2 to 3 weeks when that hair starts to matte up they will know it’s not Remy.

One indicator that you have Remy quality hair is the price. It is expensive! And it will last a long time if properly maintained.

REGULAR 100% HUMAN WEAVE:

This type of hair is usually collected from hair brushes and hair that has fallen on the floor. It is in greater supply and is therefore much cheaper than Remy Hair. The majority of human hair sold today is non-Remy hair. Because of the method of collection, the cuticle for each hair strand tends to be in all different directions. In order to compensate for this, the hair will go through a process sometimes referred to as an “acid bath”, to completely remove the entire cuticle. This can be equivalent to about ten relaxers in a row.

After the cuticle removal process, the hair is dipped in silicone to make it shine and to cover up any cuticles that were not removed in the acid bath. The silicone adds weight to the hair and ups the selling price as hair is sold by weight. At first glance the non-Remy hair will appear silky and shiny. After a few shampoos the silicone layer will start to wash off. The hair will slowly become duller, brittle and will tangle and matte very easily. This type of hair is not recommended for any long-term hair extensions (i.e. Sew-Ins) for the obvious reasons. Typically non-Remy hair is used in human hair wigs too.

Virgin Indian Hair is hair that has not been chemically altered and its roots and tips are running in the same direction. Virgin hair usually refers to Indian, Asian, or European hair. This hair is sold in their original colors and textures. So you can have fun coloring it your favorite shade.

This hair is very expensive and in short supply. Because it is not processed it is hypoallergenic and free of all harmful chemical.

Because this hair is collected from the heads of donors (ponytail method), wefted, washed and shipped directly to distributors, it tends to vary somewhat with each bundle. Since most of the Virgin Hair is sold at auctions, suppliers with a lot of capital to work with tend to walk away with the best quality hair. So if you are shopping online for Virgin Remy Hair, look for reputable company websites and do your research for negative feedback. I don’t want any of my readers getting burned.

How to Prevent Your Hair Extensions from SHEDDING!!!

Finding the perfect extensions can be a daunting and expensive task. And for that, you expect long lasting locks! It would come to no surprise that after shelling out all of that $$$ on hair, the last thing you would want to deal with is SHEDDING. But did you know that even the most luxurious manes may be prone to shed… WHY? The answer you are looking for is in the weft…

What’s the WEFT got to do with it!?

Pricey luxury extensions are pricey for a reason! Most of them are either hand-tied or feature a very thin weft, which makes your weave virtually undetectable and easier to install. Because of this, when the delicate weft is cut, this loosens the hair in the weft causing what appears to be shedding.

This potential problem can be completely avoided with a preventative method known as sealing the weft.

This process allows you to still install the hair as you normally would but with the added security of a strong and durable weft without the chunkiness. This will help you maintain your mane for the long run!

Another method to try: If you’re sewing in your extensions, sew over and around the weft. This method secures the weft without actually penetrating it. This too helps with shedding.

How to Seal the Weft

Step 1:

There are many sealants to choose from to bond the hair. As always do your research, some websites recommend using anything from clear nail polish, bonding glue to fabric sealant, so you’ll have to determine what’s best for you.  You can expect to pay between $3.00 and $14.00. *Always follow the instructions provided.

Step 2:

Once you have prepared the sealant to use, lay the wefts on a covered, flat surface. Apply the sealant directly to the weft of the hair as you would if you were going to “glue” or bond the hair but instead of installing the hair, simply allow the sealant to dry. DO NOT let sealant touch the actual hair. Wait 10 – 15 min to allow drying time or blow-dry for a quicker result. After the hair has dried, repeat on the other side.

Step 3:

When you or your hair professional is installing the hair, after cutting each weft, you can also seal the ENDS of each piece for added security.

If you don’t feel like sealing the wefts yourself, make sure that you let your hair professional know ahead of time that you are planning to have your wefts sealed so that he or she can be prepared!!
